Nice to meet you
Why choose Spoke + Lens Photography?
I’m a self confessed bike and camera nerd, who just loves nothing better than having the privilege of capturing people’s most important moments!
I pride myself on being able to capture moments naturally. I don’t want people to be stood around, especially if it’s on their big day, the photography shouldn’t be a disruption to the festivities. We’ll make it fun, we’ll be efficient, we’ll be creative and we will work together so you can get on with enjoying yourself.
I will be there when you need me and the rest of the time I’ll be in the background and out of the way working on getting the moments that no one else on the day can get.
My passion for photography started as a child when I was given my first ever camera, a 1986 Kodak that used cartridge film, which was kind of old fashioned even in the 90’s, but I loved it and I still have it to this day. From then on I was rarely parted from it and as a teenager I was lucky to attend a local Photography group in Shrewsbury, courtesy of the Shropshire Youth service.
I was let loose with their equipment, including a fully kitted out dark room, to learn the craft of photography. It was fantastic, difficult, creative and gave us a grounding of the core skills I still find so useful today.
Tried, tested & trustworthy
I love cycling, it forms such a large part of my life and really I’m not content if there hasn’t been some riding in recent memory (ideally every week or more…). The dream combination of this and photography naturally just made sense to incorporate that into my photography brand.
My memory of getting my first bikes and cameras are similar in many ways, they were core experiences that have then been a constant presence that give me joy. I will never forget getting my first proper 35mm SLR camera, my first mountain bike, my first digital camera, or my first full suspension bike. So having a brand fused with elements from both of these just made perfect sense! Wedding, family or commercial photography, I love them all!
